"Never cut what you can untie." ~Joseph Joubert

I am currently relaxing after a nice week at... DISNEYWORLD! Heck yeah! Oh man, where to begin? The week went waaaaay too fast. BUT SO MUCH WIN. It was a nice mix of things I remembered, and things that were brand new. The crowds were really nice, too... hardly any waiting for the rides and shows. Splash Mountain is definitely my favorite ride, and my niece loved it even more. She's only 4, so my sister thought she wouldn't like it... She ended up riding it 5 times. Al also overcame his childhood fear of Tower of Terror. His mind had glorified it all these years, so when he actually went on it, it wasn't as traumatic as he was expecting. Pirates of the Caribbean also added some Jack Sparrow robots into the ride, and they were super creepy. At first glance, they really do look like live people. I guess that means they did a good job, but still...

I think in general, I was able to appreciate the theming of all the parks/hotels/etc. a lot more as an adult. They really do go all out. We also happened to go during the Epcot "Flower and Garden" Festival. Everything was covered in plantlife... they even had a butterfly garden. The world showcase was really, really interesting. We spent the first half of one day just walking to each country, browsing the pavilions and watching the videos/street performers. If you're a fan of gaming/anime, the store of the Japanese pavilion has an entire section devoted to those things. There was a ton of Japanese candy and clothes, as well.

Aside from all that, the shows/parades were very entertaining. The Main Street Electrical Parade was a hoot, and Festival of the Lion King had some great singers. While in Hollywood Studios (I kept calling it "MGM"), we got to see some "Brave" concept art on display. They already had a girl dressed as her, walking around and greeting all the kids. The movie looks really, really great so far. Just a few more weeks...! Here's some pics--->

The food was generally great, but the BEST was at 'Ohana... It's a semi-small restaurant in the Polynesian Resort. From now on, everything I eat will be compared to that place. SO GOOD. My niece also got to meet her favorite person, Cinderella, while we were eating one night. She nearly flew out of the chair to go hug her.

In conclusion, my family had a blast. My niece was very, very fond of Al and I. Every-time we went off by ourselves, she asked where we were. We all live so far apart from each other, it was nice to share a week in the same location. Pop Century was a very "groovy" place to stay at, and it was nice to have a modern shower.

My only complaints are that (as I said before) the week went way too fast, and my camera's SD card decided to break mid-week (typical).
Now, I just have to unpack, clean, and mentally prepare myself for work in the morning.

It was a much needed break, and I hope to go visit again.

Back to reality!

Currently, I'm working on overdue commissions, and drawing concept art for "The Shadow Dwellers". Once I finish that, I'll re-start the comic and finish my demo reel/portfolio in tandem. I'm tired of looking at all these unfinished projects on my computer!
